At the age of 6, Charlene started singing with the local parish church choir. She was also a member of the primary school choir, and a member of the secondary school choir. In the secondary school she also took part in various musicals set up by the school.
At the age of 13 she joined the Tensing Choir, which was a choir made up of teenagers only. When she was around 15 years old she stopped any music activities and focused only on school.
Nevertheless, in the year 2014 she started attending singing lessons at Vocal Booth Studios to enhance her vocals and techniques. Her vocal coach is Pamela Bezzina. From 2014 – 2016 she also joined the Vocal Troupes choir.
In the past 2 years she participated in various small scale local festivals, placing in the 2nd or 3rd place. These festivals include: Starlight Singers Festival 2014 (3rd place), Ilhna tal-Futur Festival 2015 (3rd Place), Raise Your Voice Festival 2016 (2nd Place), Arpeggio International Festival 2016 (3rd Place), & The Maltese Islands Festival 2016 (2nd Place).
She also participated in International Singing Festivals. In July 2015, she participated in the Euroritm International Music Festival in Romania and placed 3rd, whilst in October 2016, she participated in the Silver Yantra Festival in Bulgaria and placed fourth.
Local Experiences: In September 2015 she joined the choir in the 1565 musical, and during the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2015 she was a backing vocalist of the song “Zmien Sabih” interpreted by Antonella Rapa. In October 2015, she acted as a Backing Vocalist during the Strummin Concert.
In March 2016, she joined the choir in the Queen Concert. In June 2016, she performed 2 live songs (La Notte & Stand By Me), accompanied on piano by Paul Giordimaina, during the Twelve to 3 Corazon TV Programme.
In September 2016, she was a semi-finalist in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2016 with the song “Mhux Bhal Dari”, & in November 2016 she acted as a Backing Vocalist during the Strummin Concert.
