Albert Callus joined the Marie Therese Vassallo  Voice Studio in 2007 and sang solo parts on a large number of occasions. In May 2010, he participated in two concerts in Les Sables d’Olonne, France. One of the concerts featured sacred music. In the course of that concert, Albert sang Tantum Ergo  by Vincenzo Ciappara and O Salutaris Hostia by Frank Vassallo. During the second concert, the singer interpreted Granada by Agustín Lara. He was accompanied on the two occasions by the choir of the Marie Therese  Vassallo Voice Studio.

In 2007, Albert became the first-ever interpreter of Frank Vassallo’s version of Ave Maris Stella, and by the end of July 2010, when the singer left the Studio, Albert was the only singer to have enjoyed the privilege of singing Vassallo’s beautiful work.

In January 2010, Albert participated in a concert organised by the Presidency of the Parco Nazionale della Sila from the Calabria region. The concert took place at the Exchange Building in Valletta. During the concert, the tenor sang Una furtiva lagrima,  La vie en rose and Granada. He also interpreted two duets from Italian operettas with established singer Marie Therese  Vassallo.

In July 2010, Albert received his first personal invitations to participate in concerts organised in different localities in Malta. The tenor sang during open-air evening activities organised by various municipal councils and also took part in concerts on the eve of several Maltese liturgical feasts. In the same year, the singer launched a song titled The Legend, a composition by Simon Ellul on lyrics by Albert Callus himself.

In November 2010, the singer launched a CD titled Il-Glorja Taghna (Our Glory). The lyrics of the sole number on the CD were written by Albert himself, on a personal commission by the football club’s president, to mark the centenary of the foundation of Sliema Wanderers Football Club.

Albert has also recently penned a number of songs in Maltese and in English, amongst which L-ahhar waqt which he co-wrote with composer Dominic Cini. The singer recorded his first multi-track CD which includes songs in six different languages and which was appropriately called An international flavour.
